Rehearsals are joyously intense. Music Director Joshua Greene doesn’t shy away from challenging and unusual music. This keeps us working hard, but we like that. It’s fun to sing new music.
The atmosphere of rehearsals, however, is extremely pleasant, and we have lots of laughs, due to Mr. Greene’s marvelous wit and ever-present sense of humor – and also that of the chorus members. Suffice it to say, there’s no scolding if one ventures into a wrong note. But our conductor does suggest that the errant note be learned correctly.
Most of us spend time outside of rehearsals working on pronunciation, notes and dynamics. Practice CDs are provided to help us with this.
By concert time, we are excited and raring to perform. We love our audiences – and we love singing for them. We particularly enjoy singing for Mr. Greene, who — with his active participation in every moment of the music — motivates us to sing our best.
And we love to party with our guest artists and audience after the performance.
